The Surgeon is the card of the quack, the charlatan, or some other healer who is over impressed with themselves and their ability. A damnation of those who practice a difficult art without proper training or experience. This usually represents a person offering to remove something that’s not there in the first place, thereby succumbing to a procedure that’s not necessary. Or of overstating their ability to perform this healing technique when they have no business putting their hands on you. That said, it does indicate there’s some healing needed or some emotional/ mental blockage to be removed, just not sure the person in the card is the professional you need. The Barrel suggests getting what you need from multiple sources, perhaps a second opinion or input from many mouths- get their take, their experience, their opinions. Everybody gets a turn in the barrel at some point, right? And it’s possible they’ve gone through it as well. Learn from their mistakes & what they would have done differently. The Ace of Vessels represents something that was sacrificed for the benefit of others and can successfully satisfy many mouths. This to me seems like an established, well experimented therapy that has gotten great results with many people. Your best ally in this circumstance will be the King of Swords, one who’s more knowledgeable or educated in this situation than yourself and certainly is not afraid to ask questions or get to the bottom of things. It’s a powerful person, righteous but not cruel, who holds the truth in the highest regard. The King may not even be a living person but a symbol that sometimes the greatest lesson is the harshest one. To overcome an obstacle sometimes a conflict of opinion is warranted. This trial or tribulation may just be the necessary medicine you need, to help you become stronger and spurn personal growth.
