Theme: The Body
Biggest Fear: Seduction
Strength to Overcome: The Wyvern
A strong healthy body not only needs the basics to survive, food, water & oxygen, it also requires human touch to feel whole. As corporal beings we are embodied in flesh & blood able to experience sensations of pleasure while also being vulnerable to sickness & injury. In general, this card pertains to health, wholeness, enjoyment, closeness & physicality but also acknowledging the urges we have for love & sex. The appearance of Seduction suggests we may be afraid of surrendering to a seductive power that may do us harm. Do we fear losing our senses, and be carried away by someone or something that uses charm as a manipulative tool all in an attempt to get what our bodies long for? These fears may or may not be truly warranted. In regard to physical health, Seduction urges us to be strong & resistant to a tempting force that may risk harming one’s wellbeing . It also speaks to the fear of succumbing to a craving; partaking in a vice that we know is bad for us but we do it anyway because we lack the desire or the will to resist its irresistible spell. We may have tried to kick a habit before but caved-in to our weakness after a time. The Wyvern, the granter of second chances, provides insight by urging you to learn the strength of the “enemy” & know what you’re up against. Mythically, a Wyvern will plunge into battle with any enemy no matter how powerful. Here he suggests waiting for battles or opportunities that have better odds of success. Perhaps after a time of reflection, you’ve learned what went wrong previously and are better equipped to be successful this time around. Or maybe you are this time more determined to continue your quest to live life in a healthy way despite past bad experiences or failed attempts.
