“Forgive but don’t Forget”

Don’t Do This: Trust (Vishnu)
Time to Let Go
You may be coming to a better place within you in regard to a misunderstanding, argument or contentious situation. You can acknowledge that people come from different points of view but you don’t have to be the target of abuse either. The biggest gift we can give ourselves is the one of forgiveness. It releases us from burdensome weight of anger, injustice & resentment and is essential for our mental, emotional & spiritual health. However, just because we have forgiven someone doesn’t mean that we’ll choose to keep them in our lives and allow ourselves repeatedly to be the target of the same mistreatment. Sometimes we need to remember what happened to us in order to avoid letting it happen again. Remember not everyone is worthy of our trust especially if they don’t seem to value you or make attempts to strengthen a healthy relationship. Respect is a two-way street & each party must be willing to make contrition. Therefore, the healthiest thing we can do is forgive them and then move on without them. It doesn’t serve us to obsess, but we don’t forget, either. Instead, take this valuable life lesson with you and learn from it. Through this situation you become better equipped for potential relationships & the inevitable conflicts that will come with them setting yourself up for a better result in the future.
Accept the apology (if you get one), cut the cord and move the fuck on.
