“Change Through Conscious Dissent”

This week welcomes a motivating opportunity that activates a strong need to obtain something necessary for survival and continuation.  You not only want it, but need it, in order to become something else.  In order to grow, one must grab onto vehicles for advancement and this promise of evolution and expansion triggers a rebel spirit. You feel compelled to rise to challenges and make the most of your resources, talents & opportunities available. The Sin of Pride card points to an inner condition that could become a bit of a stumbling block for the ego. Here we see a woman so engrossed in her reflection she ignores all else. Many in society today are encouraged to be super self-absorbed, holding only their experience and feelings as supreme - superseding anyone else's opinions and largely overlooking others' realities. This tendency towards narcissism carries consequences and should be examined so as to ensure it's not hindering relationships and personal development. Though championing your own experience has merits, unrestrained it grows toxic, undermining connectedness. Unproductive rebellion stemming from wounds or trauma, and not higher purpose, will become sabotaging and dissatisfying. Rebelling against prescribed authority can catalyze change, establishing personal territory. However, rebellion for its own sake disrupts without purpose. Worthy rebellion needs motivation - to break free of restriction into something more liberating - to Become Something Else. Before raging or reacting, examine driving forces and intended outcomes. Be ready to build forward setting ego aside to see a bigger picture. Therein lies freedom - acting from truth rather than anger or just wanting to be different. Direct defiance wisely at oppressive systems, not individuals equally seeking meaning.
