Please remember as with all New Year energy updates, these new energies emerge when we enter Aries season near the end of March. Pluto enters a new sign which signifies unprecedented changes to our lives & society as a whole. It changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on March 23rd, 2023, retrogrades back into Capricorn on June 11th, 2023, heads back to Aquarius on January 21st, 2024 until September 1st revisiting Cap energy for the last time and then back to stay in Aquarius on November 19th, 2024 initiating the energy we will see for the next 20 years. The ideals of  “Power to the People” living in pursuit of freedom, equal rights, self-responsibility & sovereignty.  Pluto in Aquarius serves as a good reminder that the government, its policy makers, and politicians work for us as the people’s representatives & are here to serve their citizens. I believe they all need a refresher in this principle. Pluto rules over degradation, debauchery, and the purification of impurities.  Pluto in Aquarius will expose all that is rotten in society- purging what is toxic & no longer needed. But Pluto also rules reincarnation, life after death, rebirth, and renewal. And so it’s here where we will find the “light at the end of the tunnel” providing a way out.

Guidance For the Year 2023:

The theme for 2023 is The Message card representing communications from our unconscious prodding into our conscious awareness screaming for attention through signs, signals & symbols. They encourage us to decode the world around us & in ourselves. However, these messages just don’t seem to be landing. Are we not getting it or are we just not listening? Are some of us victims of cognitive dissonance?  Do we censor & resist information contrary to our understanding or the model we have made of the world?  Do we deny & refuse to hear anything that threatens the status quo? In particular, I feel the message in regard to money & economic crisis will carry over into 2023 because we just didn’t seem to get the memo in ‘22. Society is experiencing a seismic shift, both organic & orchestrated by hidden hands. I believe many are still holding on to the hope of recapturing “the way things used to be” refusing to believe that society as we knew it is no more or conversely, society is actually worse than they realized & they need to come to grips with that. 2023 will present many examples to help drive this message home.

As Pluto enters Aquarius, there’s further indication that as a society, we are never going back to the way things were.  2023 continues to move us into uncharted territory marking the start of a new phase in our lives. And although we are standing on the threshold of a better tomorrow, this is a critical and dangerous time. The old institutions are dying. The last 15 years of Pluto in Capricorn revealed the corruption and abuses of power these once trusted & powerful organizations have committed on society. As a result, they destroyed their own credibility by their misdeeds. We no longer have trust nor faith in them like generations past. When Pluto revisits Capricorn in 2023, we will experience their last gasping attempts to hold & enforce their waning power.  We will be presented with very real danger and pommeling challenges that will demand we assume the “Way of the Warrior” to successfully battle through. It will seem as if it’s one thing after another, beating us down tempting us to give into hopelessness. The Dawn card invites us to assume a new perspective on what seems to be a time of great undoing & chaos. It is just a product of our intention of wanting to see the truth, to shed light on the dark. We are now seeing things for the way they truly are.

Night has passed & new opportunities are coming but here at this beginning stage, it’s hard to discern where the old day ends & the new one begins. The “Approach” promises a time of growing power and energies which have not yet revealed themselves. However, we must travel through the “Abysmal” first; a time of unpredictability, overwhelm & great risk.  Something important is coming, a spring of sorts. Doubts & fears may arise but liberation requires us to rise above what holds us down. We need to welcome it & let it land without grasping. This hopeful new beginning must be matched on our part with diligent preparation & enthusiastic labor including releasing any self-imposed constraints or resistance to the Truth as well as getting rid of unnecessary emotional & physical clutter that you have accumulated. In short, we need to look within & purge bad habits or damaging mindsets, and finally deal with "our stuff". Purification for what will come in 2026. The Last Quarter Moon represents the theme of letting go & forgiveness. Some may experience difficulties in releasing anger or grudges. So, as this prospect comes more into the visible world, we will be forced to pick a side- light or dark. To lighten up & ascend by aligning with God & the divine beauty of the human spirit or become more entrenched in cold materialism bound to matter, ego & artificial intelligence.

2023 may have some feeling as if they are drowning, struggling to keep up.  There will be times when we will be weary & want to lose heart intimidated by the seemingly insurmountable odds. It’s going to demand we bravely face our fears and confront the danger before us, so we may navigate the dark waters ahead. It will not be easy considering the fragile emotional state many have found themselves in after these very challenging years but this is not the time to quit. There’s too much on the line & we are on the threshold of a new way forward full of promise & generosity but it will require strength and self-assertion to blossom. Faith & our connections to others will be important tools as well as exceptional flexibility. We will have to know when to fight & when to flow…and when to float.

 

 

Will we allow the upcoming challenges to teach us something? Danger also carries the potential to reveal inner resources & hidden courage that form the foundations of a new life transcending the known & familiar. Do we have the fortitude to fight for a new way of life? One of quality, beauty & boundless possibility? You can only be free to live a life fully when you have courage. Fear is not a virtue neither is blind recklessness. 2023 will need courage coming from a place of intelligence, inner strength, compassion & honesty.

As the hexagram 29 “The Abysmal” changes to 19 “The Approach”, we are shown the way through this situation by the changing lines 1& 5.

 Changing Lines 1:

 

• We will not be able to fight off the overwhelming challenges this new beginning brings & any resistance to it will be futile. Some challenges will fizzle out before they present any real harm so when possible, stay stealthy like a cat, aware & alert, waiting patiently for the danger to pass or the perfect time to strike. There will be times when we should ride out bad situations. Other times, we will be forced with having to defend ourselves.

 

• We are called to examine the way we habitually react over & over to crises. The Abysmal warns that responding in the same way again & again will lead into depression & despair.  During this time, it will be critical not to let our emotions take over but instead, be focused, centered & connected to our inner wisdom. This will allow us to recognize the right time to either stand down, allowing the danger to pass or stand up & fight back defending our ground. This will come easier to those who have done the inner work these last three years. Those who haven’t will have a rougher go, giving into panic & fear pulling them from center. We are encouraged to rise above the circumstances and not to be swayed by emotions or prejudices that suck us in & drag us under.

 

• The Abysmal urges us to follow the code of “The Way of The Warrior”, as a way to navigate with integrity. We can rise above the distorted Matrix by following the higher principles of valor, loyalty & justice turning away from the celebration of vices. Everyone knows in their hearts what is right and just & what is not. We have been tolerant of corruption, perversity & decadence for so long that some believe it’s a natural way of being. Normalized dysfunction & immorality that’s now commonplace. But just because something is common, doesn’t make it correct, normal or good.  It’s only through repetition does either a vice or virtue become established. Wouldn’t be nice to normalize compassion, honesty, courage & wisdom? We have become accustomed to being in a foolish & dangerous situation and many don’t even seem to care. They’ve lost sight of the pitfalls becoming indifferent to the dangers we face as a society. They’ve adopted these bad habits or vices into themselves and become part of the swamp the rest of us are trying to wade through to reach this new beginning breaking with hope & promise.

Changing Line 5:

 

• The danger will eventually pass but while it still exists there’s no need to take reckless chances. Tame your ambitions keeping goals realistic. You cannot force a solution. Don’t overextend yourself by trying to tackle more than you are capable of. Travel the path with the fewest obstacles & soon the danger will taper off. Balance is key here.

 

• And although new things are peaking on the horizon, 2023 is still a purification year. Making a move now towards your new beginning is not suggested. It’s likely to break apart so it will be best to it ride out until next year. Instead, stay flexible & receptive. Collect your forces and do what you can taking care of your most immediate needs or demands. Have patience for things to open up closer to 2024 when taking the risk has a better chance of succeeding.

 

• People are coming together now after a time of loneliness & separation. Nothing seems the same anymore. We are not the same anymore. 2023 will be a point marking new, positive energies emerging which is why we are in the collective process of dissolving our old identities. New communities will form as a result. This is a period of endings but also new beginnings. Be open to what comes next while making plans and get rid of old ideas and bad memories. Having a good cleansing cry will be helpful in releasing the past. Do not fight it or focus on climbing to a higher level but embrace this dissolution phase. This difficult time will soon be over and we will get through it.

 

• This changing line signifies something important returning. We may see the army or forces of good leaders coming together to meet & mobilize for the good of the people. This may be needed as some groups may find themselves being persecuted for their ideologies. Our fear will be replaced with rage propelling us to rise up and push against. This warrior-like fire energy returns to our bellies activating us to make a change. 

 

 

As we enter into this realm of risk & uncertainty, we will be encouraged to learn how to be a fiercely determined, creative individual with the natural leadership ability to take charge in any situation. 2023 will challenge many to find the willingness to step into a strong sense of Self giving the courage to charge ahead fearlessly. Many could reach their breaking points; exhausted at fighting against the machine. But although we may at times feel vulnerable and burnt out, we simply cannot run from confrontation and just give in. Instead, we must power through, finding the strength to stand our ground and honorably fight against intimidating odds with integrity, no matter the situation….fighting for ourselves and what we believe in.

​

Thankfully, we don’t do any of this alone. Since the 7 of Wands embodies Mars in Leo (Mars representing our Personal Will aligning with the Pluto Collective Will) success hinges on us joining forces with others to coast through this danger with balance ..finding the sweet spot between surrender & necessary action. No matter the opposition we may face, the Universe always provides a way out, wiggle room to create a more pleasing alternative. Once we reset our internal compasses, determined to overcome obstacles & move powerfully towards a new dawn, we can surrender to the ride and embrace the new having the courage to embark on the journey of this dreamt adventure. It will become clearer that it was worth taking a stand once we see some real encouraging results towards the end of 2023.
