Please remember as with all New Year energy updates, these new energies emerge when we enter Aries season near the end of March. Pluto enters a new sign which signifies unprecedented changes to our lives & society as a whole. It changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on March 23rd, 2023, retrogrades back into Capricorn on June 11th, 2023, heads back to Aquarius on January 21st, 2024 until September 1st revisiting Cap energy for the last time and then back to stay in Aquarius on November 19th, 2024 initiating the energy we will see for the next 20 years. The ideals of “Power to the People” living in pursuit of freedom, equal rights, self-responsibility & sovereignty. Pluto in Aquarius serves as a good reminder that the government, its policy makers, and politicians work for us as the people’s representatives & are here to serve their citizens. I believe they all need a refresher in this principle. Pluto rules over degradation, debauchery, and the purification of impurities. Pluto in Aquarius will expose all that is rotten in society- purging what is toxic & no longer needed. But Pluto also rules reincarnation, life after death, rebirth, and renewal. And so it’s here where we will find the “light at the end of the tunnel” providing a way out.

The Liar signifies truth and deception play a central role in 2024’s narrative. 2024 will see another repeat of cycles having us reflect on how we cope with change and more bullshit. The Wheel of Fortune could foreshadow another round of lies as well as the dissatisfaction that will follow. The game is afoot, puppets on the chessboard fall only to be replaced by other bad actors. Where facts seem deliberately unreliable this year, the invitation becomes sharpening your senses to cut through facades to what’s real, including deeply held ideologies within ourselves. Empowerment lies in comprehending the hidden hands at play. Despite the chaos, space opens for collectively reorienting to honesty through the education of all viewpoints by way of the written word. This leads toward enlightenment, moving away from suffering and ignorance. If this course is taken, we find the answer we’ve been searching for. Though light still competes with shadows over what shapes reality, we could see a turnaround of unfulfilled wishes & shattered dreams, driven by movements of Fate beyond our influence.

The Liar introduces us to the theme of 2024 - distortions of truth. False representations have left many fatigued trying to discern reality amidst rumor mills and warring perspectives - coverups, broken promises, and flip flopping. It's a game, a complete mockery of what is true, good & real. We find ourselves in the middle of a Punch and Judy play which has us turning on each other, being taken for fools, distracting from what is really going on. Shouldn’t the question be what or who is hiding behind the curtain? Just as one mask drops, another takes its place looking to frighten or disguise the Liar’s true intent. What they say diverges from their real motives, mere smokescreens masking their real purpose. Ulterior motives fuel double speak & hidden agendas. It's distractions and deception, so doubt the explanations given...puppets on display.
Hagalaz, the rune of destruction & crisis, speaks to our current state of disruption and rampant chaos, a continuation of the unpleasant “Tower moment” we’ve been experiencing since 2020. Both Hagalaz and The Wheel suggest unavoidable, unpredictable & frightening disruption signaling an end to a cycle. This crisis could not be avoided and had to happen. The destruction was necessary to reveal the deep rot within our systems and the need to rebuild new, more beneficial foundations. Despite frustration and powerlessness, radical change on our part has been called for in response to the confusion. This “Big Awakening” provides motivation for corrections, potentially revealing obscured villains tilting the Wheel out of balance. Empowerment lies in comprehending the hidden hands at play. On a more personal level, Hagalaz causes discomfort in others by awakening them to their own subconscious untruths, biases, and bullsh*t - offering a chance to banish disharmonious patterns. It brings attention to the foolishness dwelling in the shadowy basements of people's minds.
Interesting enough, Tom Montalk describes the chaos from Hagalaz as being indicative of 3rd party interferences-manipulations in a regressive way - possible timeline alterations from hyper-dimensional beings. The Gnostics believe these are deceitful Beings who exist just outside our realm using us as an energy source while commanding their Earthly puppets to do their bidding. The Wheel of Fortune tells us that snakes & demons surround & influence this wheel but so do the Divine Forces standing in our corners with knowledge on how to navigate the turn. However, the obstacle lies in how we seek solutions to this crisis. Ignorance gives rise to suffering by seeing inaccurately. Here our aim is to get from suffering to wisdom. Doors that lead toward healing seem blocked by uncertainty of where the truth lies. So bound up in discontent or dissatisfaction, we fail to recognize a doorway of our misery. One cannot remain tangled in wishful thinking, avoidance or playing victim when bad things happen. They will happen - that's unavoidable. In this case, it will be truckloads of deceptive drivel in all forms. The trick is to meet it head-on with bravery, an honest search for the truth, and a genuine desire to understand other points of view.
As represented by the Ace of Books, advice comes through sharing knowledge via the written word. This powerful tool offers understanding, intelligence, and learning to enhance one's perspective. However, discernment proves key. (I cannot stress this enough) While some writings provide illumination, others spread dangerous falsehoods by omitting truths, bias or skewing facts. There will be quality info deserving celebration for conveying ideas benefiting humanity. But there may also be misinformation seeking to manipulate emotions and actions by polluting minds. Therefore, education requires entertaining various viewpoints and integrating what wisdom one can extract while filtering out underlying bullsh*t. Transformation occurs by integrating impactful information rather than being crushed by it. Diverse ideas, experiences and narratives hold potential to broaden one's lens. We can be forever changed by its impact. Valuable truths can also be found in the realms of art, myth and music. Yet amidst gems remain assorted lies to discern. Cultivating an inquisitive spirit alongside sound judgment paves inroads to truth through an unavoidably murky landscape of manipulation. Thereby lessening suffering from ignorance.
The Wheel of Fortune, ruled by Jupiter, indicates there is an expansion of illumination directed by Higher Forces. The Wheel of Fortune and The 9 of Cups in reverse indicate a reflection on the disintegration and separation due to lifestyle choices - marking a period of major change that will lead to a shifting from a lack of inner happiness to greater fulfillment and feeling more centered, regardless if the world shakes around you. For some, a complete about-face exposes where self-deception and external lies once took root. This change in events brings an about-face of self-pride and vanity, wiping smug certainty off faces as new information transforms previously held beliefs. By moving in a different direction, we learn how to stop the wheel and create the life we want, moving away from feeling as if we're living a lie.

When the impersonal wheel turns, Karma is delivered, even if it's just temporary. There is an inevitability of fate reminding us we are never in complete control. But those who use all their strength to stay the course will receive their just deserts. As Fortune turns, the pace will pick up. There will be an increased movement towards a turnaround of greed, selfishness, and hedonism. This transformation has been forced upon us for our own good, as we have dwelled too long in our comfort zone. We no longer can afford to indulge at the same level.
A revolution against easy lifestyles where we grew too soft or complacent, allowing these liars to grow fat on too much of a good thing. It is also here where we become more aware of the patterns and cycles of lies, untruths, and propaganda that has led to our discontent. By gaining knowledge from different points of view, we gain a larger perspective of the game board, seeing how it all connects, unmasking the Man Behind the Curtain, revealing the inauthentic pretending “all was well”. All is not right with the world. Additionally, there may be an increased movement towards suspicion and an apprehension of trusting now unreliable allies - no longer willing to turn over in blind faith to the players on the wheel who turn this planet and abuse our charity.
